Assist the media specialist and media clerk in creating a WOW (Working on the Work by Phillip Schlechty) bulletin board based on the media specialist's unit on fractured fairy tales.
Create parent flyers about the Scholastic Summer Reading Challenge. The flyers incorporated reading lists provided by Scholastic that are organized by grade level.
Advertise the school book fair by filling out and hanging up posters.
Learn how morning announcements are operated and how the media specialist supervises the students who run the morning announcements.

Lori is a very creative person. She likes to create excitement in a quiet sort of way. Lori quickly completes tasks that she is asked to do. Lori is very efficient, knowledgeable and resourceful. She created the summer reading program fliers to encourage students to read throughout the summer. Lori was able to take the fliers provided by Scholastic and condense them to could save paper. Lori also created an eye-pleasing bulletin board that included information from a previously taught Media Center unit. Lori also learned the importance of running an organized TV news show at the beginning of each day.
